One of the most important master data for CRM or Customer Relationship Management is BP or Business Partner.
What is a Business Partner?
If you think from global business perspective the organization deals with many people and these are known as BP. e.g Vendor, customer, debtor etc
Basically any company who is selling products/services do interact with many people or other organizations therefore we call these as Business Partners in SAP CRM
How many types of BP or Business Partner exist in SAP CRM?
There are mainly three types of BP i.e.
Organization means the group of persons/people who belongs to same company or let us say a club of people or association of people but legally known
Group means shorter combination common set of people
Thus, majority of the Master data which is used today is person and Organization type of Business Partners
What are Roles and how these are related to BP in SAP CRM?
Many time I have come across this situation where people ask me how are the roles and what are the roles as I have already mentioned this article/blog earlier. BP can be an organization or person interacting with the company so the way they interact becomes ROLE of BP.
Thus, we can have multiple Roles for BP or Business Partners in SAP CRM like Sold to Party, Bill to Party etc
