It is also possible to quickly create a Project in MS Project 2013 tool via templates.

A Template is concept where we already have a sample plan relevant to our requirements which can be customized to suite our real Project requirements.

Yes, it is possible to search also on office.com via mpp or MS Project 2013 where we can immediately start project by allocation of real resources and adapting the task as per our requirements.

Step 1 - Click new Project

Step 2 – Now we can choose a sample template like SDLC(we all love software/tools being part of IT world and aligned to more SDLC approach, so I am selecting it here but we can choose any other template as per our requirement). Thus, click to select SDLC and choose CREATE button.

Step 3 – we see now all the task coming and filled in our project coming from template

Yes it has many Summary Task and we can expand them to see more details

Step 4 – We can now customize the start date of the project and you can see this here

Step 5 – We can also assign resources in Project now as per requirement

Step 6 – Further we need to maintain some dependencies/sequences among these task and adapting to our specific requirements with baseline setting.

Thus, we have now see how easy it is to setup a complete project in 6 steps without writing anything from scratch.

In case you are interested to know how to create our own project as a template which can be re-utilized again for upcoming projects instead of using standard office.com template then first understand that this is also possible in MS Project 2013.
