Learn/How to Assign Cost Resources in Project or MS Project 2013 tool(Step by Step with screenshots)

Resources- The most important part of any project execution

There are 3 types of resource which we can utilize for any project and these are :

  1. Cost Resource
  2. Work/People Resource
  3. Material Resource
Today we will concentrate and understand this type of resource which is basically the cost we might incur as part of execution of this plan like if we travel to Mumbai Juhu Beach/Aksa Beach
Yes interesting..I know good place and I have been there couple of time and you can check my experience here.

So the cost to travel to this location is basically nothing but our Cost Resource and must be assign and planned as per requirement.
For e.g. sometimes we hire a people on some contract to do our work but in addition to there daily wages we might have to pay them logistics, travel etc. cost in reality and this all adds to our Project Budget.
Thus, let us see in our already existing project as created earlier where we have allocated Work/people or human resource as below.

Assuming one of them has to travel and incurring travel cost so let us goto Resource sheet here and add the travel cost.

Yes now we are in our sheet by typing (simply) we are adding Travel Cost as the Resource Name but please make a note this time we are choosing or selecting COST as the resource type instead of work.

Thus now we have assigned an additional resource or cost type of resource to our MS Project 2013.

Further, I hope you have checked below for some more basic ideas on MPP or MS Project Plan 2013 and started building a basic plan.
